Step 1: Identify Candidate Topics (Passion + Demand Filter)

Brainstorm 10-15 topics you could discuss for years. Filter using Google Trends, AnswerThePublic, or SEMrush to confirm demand exists. Social media groups reveal trending topics with active engagement. Ask yourself: "Can I talk about this topic for many years?" - passion is essential for long-term content success.

Step 2: Analyze Existing Content Quality (Competitor Research)

Search Google for each candidate topic. Examine beyond page 1: content depth and comprehensiveness, publication dates and freshness, engagement metrics (comments, shares, backlinks), format variety (blogs, videos, podcasts). Look for unsolved pain points, missing angles, and sections competitors skip entirely.
